"I played under Mourinho and Pochettino but Maresca is the best." Premier League star claims, and reveals why.

A Premier League star has given Chelsea fans an insight on the good things to expect from Maresca that the Blues didn't get under Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino's respective spells at Chelsea.

Former Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks has claimed Enzo Maresca is the best Manager he has played for despite playing under Mauricio Pochettino and Jose Mourinho.

Winks who now plays for Leicester City will be making his return to the Premier League after winning the Championship with the Foxes.

The midfielder outlined Maresca's qualities that make him stand out ahead of Mourinho and Pochettino:

"[Enzo Maresca is] by far the best manager I’ve worked for, he’s incredible," the former England international told Sky Sports. "I think everyone will say he’s going right to the top, he’s got everything.

"He’s a great man manager, he’s tactically incredible, some of the decisions he tells us to do before the game and how you view the matches and it’s something that I’ve never experienced before in football. It’s opened my eyes a lot to football and the way it’s played, that kind of Pep Guardiola style as well, who he worked with for a very long time.

"I’m loving my football, it works perfectly for me, it’s exactly the kind of football that I want to play and I buy into and since he’s come in I’ve learned so much and will continue to do that."

Maresca first cut his teeth in the managerial game working with Manchester City's Elite Development Squad, before a brief seven-month reign as Parma boss which resulted in his sacking in November 2021. He joined Leicester last summer after spending a season as Guardiola's assistant coach at City where he played a part in their historic Treble triumph.
