Three Chelsea players named in the Premier League Young team of the season.
Chelsea's young team sparked fire in the just concluded season.
With Thiago Silva the oldest in the Chelsea squad last season, the average age of the entire squad was amongst the youngest in the entire league.
To show just how good the young team were under Pochettino, three Chelsea players have been named in Daily Mail's Premier League Young team of the season.
First on the list is no doubt Cold Palmer, who was in red hot form, winning multiple awards in just his first season with the club. Sitting as the second top scorer in the Premier League, it is easy to see why he was one of the three Blues named in the Daily Mail’s young Team of the Season.
Second was Malo Gusto. In just his first season at the club he was tasked with filling in for the injured Reece James for the majority of the campaign, a task he performed admirably.
He showed both attacking and defensive prowess, with the Blues at times hardly missing their club captain on the pitch.
The final Chelsea man named in the squad was Nicolas Jackson, who did quite a job to turn around the media’s perception of him after a tough start.
His purple patch at the end of the season was one of the contributing factors to Chelsea actually qualifying for European football for next season, and he will be hoping it was enough to deter the Blues from making a big money signing up front.
