"He needs to challenge Jackson." Enzo Maresca wants Chelsea to sign brilliant £68M striker in January.

 Per new reports,  Chelsea are still on the look for a renowned striker who can compete with Nicolas Jackson.  

Journalist Iomie Stanley has claimed that Chelsea are seriously interested in signing Benjamin Sesko this summer window, and he could be a great signing for the Blues.

Sesko – who is also attracting interest  – ended the season in stunning form, scoring or assisting in 13 of the final 16 games of the Bundesliga season, and his release clause increased to €65million (£56m) as a result.

It is no secret that we are looking to add a new striker to that attack in the coming transfer window as they still have not got a 25-30 goal a season forward that can score on a weekly basis.

Stanley said: “Chelsea, I expect to be seriously involved in the Sesko conversation as well. And then PSG are going to have to decide whether or not they want to try for a Sesko player or a profile of his nature, whether they want to put a lot of their saved money towards Victor Osimhen, or whether they want to enter the conversation for Rafael Leao.

‘'The European Championships will gave the likes of Chelsea a good look at what Sesko is capable of and he could well be a solid addition to any side in the Premier League. 

‘'The Board like to sign players that have a good few seasons in the game – that are value for money and that have not yet hit their prime – Sesko is the perfect kind of signing for Chelsea.

‘'But there are a few options for the player – meaning that Chelsea will have a massive battle on their hands to get a deal done 

"But the way that Sesko plays – his age – he could be the perfect signing for Enzo Maresca.''

Chelsea already have Nkunku who could prove to be a solid competitor for Jackson's spot. It remains to be seen why Enzo Maresca considers Gyokeres a good option for Jackson. Earlier in March, Sporting Lisbon slapped a whooping £68.5M ($84.5M) price tag on Gyokeres.
