Four Chelsea players who will benefit from Chelsea's Europa Conference League qualification.

It was confirmed after Manchester United's 2-1 win over City that Chelsea will play in the Conference League.

Although, a reporter suggests there is a possibility that Chelsea won't 'automatically accept the invitation' to re-enter Europe in the upcoming campaign. The Telegraph's Matt Law has declared there is a chance that Chelsea won't compete in the tournament. This is apparently because of the Profit and Sustainability issues hanging over the Stamford Bridge team. We all know the Blues hierarchy is said to be working hard behind the scenes to comply with PSRs. If entering means there could be a future ban from competing in all European competition, Law says CFC will not do so.

However,  should Chelsea take part in the competition,  here are the players who would benefit:

1. Lesley Ugochukwu: one player who had few minutes of play after coming out of an injury in December is Lesley Ugochukwu.

Since the Conference League isn't as prestigious as the Europa League itself, Chelsea’s two-legged play-off tie in the Europa Conference League could be used to help the Frenchman get his match fitness and sharpness back.

2. Robert Sanchez: Formerly the Blues' no.1, an injury blow to the Spaniard saw him get dropped for Petrovic.

The goalkeeper hasn't had enough minutes since Petrovic took up the number one role. However, the Blues’ next manager may be happy to go with Sanchez in the Conference  League tournament. And if the 26-year-old performs well in it, maybe he can reclaim his No.1 spot.

3. Wesley Fofana: Held back by injury,  the Frenchman did not play a single minute of football under Pochettino.

Before his exit, Poch said he was hopeful of having Fofana back for pre-season. Chelsea’s two-legged play-off tie in the Europa Conference League could be used to help the Frenchman get his match fitness and sharpness back.

4. Romeo Lavia: Romeo Lavia only played once in all competitions this season for Chelsea and has been a subject of injury concerns.

This summer, the midfielder is going to have to put a lot of work into recovering his match fitness and sharpness again.

The Europa Conference League could help him with that, with Chelsea now needing to play a two-legged play-off tie in August to get into the competition proper.

Those two games, then, could be the perfect opportunity for Lavia to get some competitive minutes under his belt.
