 • | NEWS | SPORTS | CHELSEA | POST MATCH REACTION                                      — Chelsea fans are furious over Enzo Maresca's decision to not even include Pedro Neto in his starting XI against Newcastle United on Wednesday.  Neto was such a threat against Newcastle in the first clash on Sunday with his pace, using it to get on the end of a terrific pass from Palmer before setting up Jackson for Chelsea’s opener. He was the highest-rated Chelsea player on Sofascore on the day with a match rating of 7.9. According to the same website, Neto also made three key passes, the most in his team. It was a similar story last Sunday as well, with Neto creating three opportunities at Anfield. However, Enzo Maresca left the Portuguese out of his lineup for the second leg against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup, a decision that has left many fans furious.  Reports suggest ...

"They should be sold." Chelsea fans blast two players following poor performance against Newcastle United.

Chelsea fans have blasted the defensive duo of Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi on X after they struggled in their 2-0 loss to Newcastle United. The Blues have been knocked out of the EFL Cup following their Round of 16 defeat at St. James' Park on Wednesday, October 30. Disaster struck for the Blues in the 23rd minute when Badiashile attempted to play out from the back. However, he played a poor pass into the path of Renato Veiga, which resulted in the latter losing the ball. It led to Alexander Isak finishing into the bottom corner. Axel Disasi then scored an own goal three minutes later after Joe Willock flicked the ball following Isak's cross into the box. Chelsea attempted to launch a comeback but never looked like getting back into the game as they fell to a 2-0 defeat. Disasi has a poor game at right-back, making zero tackles, scoring an own goal, and losing four duels. Badiashile's decision-making on the night was poor and he never looked comfortable in possessio...

"They made us suffer." Newcastle boss blames two Chelsea stars over his side's 2-1 defeat.

Image
• Newcastle United boss has blamed two Chelsea stars for his side's 2-1 defeat on Sunday.  Chelsea were back in Premier League action on Sunday against Newcastle and  moved themselves into the top four of the   Premier League   with a well deserved 2-1 victory over   Newcastle   at Stamford Bridge. The Blues dominated and controlled possession in the first half with Eddie Howe’s Magpies looking uncharacteristically uneasy as the match went on. Cole Palmer, always eager to impress, had the ball in the back of the net with six minutes only for the goal to be ruled out for an offside in the build-up. However, it didn’t take Chelsea long before they went ahead. Palmer released Pedro Neto down the left wing and he squared to Nicolas Jackson for a tap-in after a quick counter attack. Alexander Isak managed to pull one back with an awkwardly taken equaliser to send the teams into the break on level terms but it was Palmer who had the last word....

Chelsea are back in   Conference League   action tonight when they travel to Athens to meet Greek giants Panathinaikos. The Blues are favourites for the competition but it remains to be seen how seriously head coach Enzo Maresca takes the tournament, with the Italian no doubt keen to make inroads into the upper echelons of the Premier League. Still, the Conference League does look like the best chance to securing the first piece of silverware in the Clearlake Capital era. Maresca certainly has the resources to battle across a number of fronts. All of Cole Palmer, Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Romeo Lavia and Nicolas Jackson have been rested but Chelsea will likely still field a side the envy of most teams in the competition. HERE'S HOW BOTH TEAMS LINEUP:   Chelsea XI to face Panathinaikos: Jorgensen, Disasi, Badiashile, Veiga, Cucurella, Enzo, Dewsbury-Hall,Neto, Felix, Mudryk, Nkunku Bench: Sanchez, Bergstrom, Tosin, Casadei, Chukwuemeka, George, Madueke, Mhuek...

"They must be stopped." Arne slot names two Chelsea stars who will pose a threat to Liverpool in Sunday's clash.

Enzo Maresca may have to make two changes to his starting XI as Chelsea face Liverpool.  Liverpool boss Arne Slot has identified two Chelsea stars as potential threat to Liverpool's victory on Sunday.  Per team news  Maresca will be without both Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella for the match due to suspension. The pair picked up their fifth bookings of the season against Nottingham Forest before the international break. Captain Reece James could be in the matchday squad for the first time this season, having fully recovered from a hamstring injury, while Levi Colwill and Carney Chukwuemeka are also expected to be available. The former had picked up a knock whilst on England duty.  Heading into the clash, Liverpool boss Arne Slot has already identified Chelsea as a threat going into the game:  " It is not up to me to say something about an approach. The only thing I saw is they were really successful in the second half of last season, it is a good forecast...

LIVESTREAM: Finland vs England | Nations League

Image
Hello all and welcome again to our live coverage of England’s latest UEFA Nations League challenge — this time with a trip to face Finland in Helsinki. England must bounce back from their loss to Greece if they are to keep their hopes of returning to the top group of the Nations League alive. The Three Lions were stunned at Wembley in midweek, losing to their opponents from the Mediterranean for the first time ever. It led to some serious questions for Lee Carsley about his line-up, which included Cole Palmer, Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham, but no out-and-out striker. But the interim boss is set to return back to basics against Finland, although a win is not guaranteed. Here's how both teams lineup:  England’s lineup announced Henderson (GK); Alexander-Arnold, Stones, Guehi, Walker; Gomes, Rice; Palmer, Bellingham, Grealish; Kane (C) Finland’s lineup announced Hradecky (GK, C); Peltola, Ivanov, Hoskonen, Kamara; Jensen, Schuller, Alho; Uronen, Kallman, Keskinen Finland’s su...

"He needs to challenge Jackson." Enzo Maresca wants Chelsea to sign brilliant £68M striker in January.

Image
Per new reports,  Chelsea are still on the look for a renowned striker who can compete with Nicolas Jackson.   Journalist Iomie Stanley has claimed that Chelsea are seriously interested in signing Benjamin Sesko this summer window, and he could be a great signing for the Blues. Sesko – who is also attracting interest  – ended the season in stunning form, scoring or assisting in 13 of the final 16 games of the Bundesliga season, and his release clause increased to €65million (£56m) as a result. It is no secret that  we  are looking to add a new striker to that attack in the coming transfer window as they still have not got a 25-30 goal a season forward that can score on a weekly basis. Stanley said: “Chelsea, I expect to be seriously involved in the Sesko conversation as well. And then PSG are going to have to decide whether or not they want to try for a Sesko player or a profile of his nature, whether they want to put a lot of their saved money towar...

"Start him against Liverpool. He will frustrate Van Dijk." Mikel Obi suggests Enzo Maresca should start 26-year-old Chelsea star against Liverpool.

Image
Chelsea face Liverpool after the international break and Mikel Obi has urged Maresca to start one Chelsea star who would be a threat to Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk.  Mikel Obi in his Obionepodcast stated that Christopher Nkunku should start against Liverpool as he would be a menace to Van Dijk.   “I think so,” he said on the Obi One Podcast when asked if Christopher Nkunku is a number nine and could push Nicolas Jackson in that role. “I know Jackson plays every game, starts every game. He scored back-to-back against Wolves and Crystal Palace, but I think we have these players as well who can play the false nine role.” He added as quoted by  Chelsea247 "Nkunku frustrates defenders and Van Dijk will suffer from his hands…we need a player like Nkunku to start such game.”  He said. Obi also gave an insight on how the Blues could utilize their attacking options:  “Create the freedom for these players, Jadon, Cole Palmer, Madueke on the right, Nkunku or Joã...

WATCH: Ins*ne goal clearance from Levi Colwill to prevent Greece from scoring.

Image
Levi Colwill has just made a Thiago Silva-esque goal line clearance in the game vs Greece.  Jordan Pickford’s error almost enabled Greece to take the lead against England at Wembley on Thursday evening, however Levi Colwill spared the goalkeeper’s blushes with an incredible goal line clearance. Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford will be thanking Levi Colwill come the full-time whistle on Thursday, as the Chelsea defender made an incredible goal line clearance to spare the stopper’s blushes less than 10 minutes into England’s Nations League clash against Greece at Wembley. Pickford came out of his box to collect the ball after some strong shielding from Three Lions skipper John Stones, but he then dribbled into danger and lost his footing when trying to pass the ball, handing Greece’s captain Anastasios Bakasetas a golden opportunity to open the scoring. The Panathinaikos midfielder quickly lobbed his effort past Pickford and over the head of Stones, but luckily for ...
